Glassboro, N.J. - Stockton University (10-11, 0-3 NJAC) began its home-and-home series against 16th-ranked Rowan University (15-6, 1-2 NJAC) with a 10-2 setback on the road. The Ospreys scored first, but the Profs answered with 10 runs in a span of three innings.

Joe Gmitter (Hamilton/Steinert) went 3-4 and produced both Stockton runs with a pair of solo homers that were his first two in an Osprey uniform. Gmitter recorded his seventh game with three hits or more out of 20 played this season.

Evan Bresnen (Allentown/Steinert) and
Tucker Elder (Ewing/Ewing) each went 2-4 in the contest. Overall, Stockton outhit Rowan 9-8.

Gmitter slugged his first home run of the game in the top of the second to give Stockton an early 1-0 edge. Rowan put up four runs in the third inning, two in the fourth and four more in the fifth for a 10-1 count.

Gmitter added his second homer of the game in the top of the ninth to complete the scoring. Stockton used four pitchers, with
Tim Welsh (Allentown/Allentown) striking out a career-high four batters and allowing just one hit and one walk in 3.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen.

Phil Sedalis and Nick Struble each homered for Rowan.

Stockton and #16 Rowan will square off again tomorrow at 3:30 p.m in Galloway.
