Kass Voted to CSC Academic All-America Second Team

Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University junior Kayla Kass (Bayonne/Bayonne) was voted to the NCAA Division III Academic All-America Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Second Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). Kass, who competes in cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field, is an education major with a 3.97 grade point average.
 
Kass became Stockton's 21st Academic All-American overall and seventh in women's track & field/cross country. Her selection marked six straight years and nine of the last 10 with at least one Academic All-American for Stockton. The Academic All-America Teams are selected by college athletic communications professionals.
 
Kass collected numerous accolades and set new records during the indoor and outdoor track & field seasons. She earned her third and fourth career All-American honors in the 800m run by finishing sixth at the NCAA Indoor Championships and seventh at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Kass also set three individual school records and ran legs on four record-setting relays.
 
During the indoor season, Kass was voted USTFCCCA Metro Region Track Athlete of the Year and NJAC Most Outstanding Athlete along with earning USTFCCCA all-region honors in the 800m, 4x400 relay and distance medley relay as well as NJAC First Team spots in the 800m and distance medley relay plus NJAC Honorable Mention in the 4x400 relay.
 
Kass set school records in the indoor 500m (1:17.99) and 800m (2:10.71) along with running legs of relay teams that set school marks in the 4x400 (3:58.38) and distance medley relay (12:02.70). She was named NJAC Track Athlete of the Week twice during the campaign.
 
The success and honors continued during the outdoor track & field season as Kass collected USTFCCCA All-Region honors in the 800m and 4x400 relay to go with NJAC First Team in the 800m and NJAC Honorable Mention in the 4x400 relay. Kass was named NJAC Track Athlete of the Week on April 21.
 
The junior posted a new school record in the 800m (2:07.13) and ran on the 4x400 (3:47.57) and 4x800 (9:16.81) relay teams that set new school marks.
 
Kass started her junior year with cross country in Fall 2024, earning USTFCCCA All-Region, NJAC Second Team and USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete honors. The junior scored at all seven meets and was Stockton's top finisher four times, including the NJAC Championships and NCAA Metro Regionals.
