Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University freshman Sophia Cornell (New Tripoli, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) was named NJAC Rookie of the Week for women's cross country after competing in her second career race. Cornell collected her first collegiate honor and became the second straight Osprey to be chosen for the award.
 
Cornell completed Stockton's group of five scorers by finishing in 39th place out of 83 runners at the Kutztown University DII/III Challenge on Saturday, running 25:31.00 over the 6K course. She helped the Ospreys finish fifth at the meet.
 
The Stockton men's and women's cross country teams will host the Ospreys Open on Saturday. The men's race will start at 10:30 a.m., with the women's race following at 11:15 a.m. in Galloway.
