Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University hosted its first meet of the season and finished fourth out of 16 scoring teams in the Osprey Open. Stockton placed three runners in the top 16, and all five of its scorers were in the top 31 spots out of 158 competitors.
 
Kayla Kass (Bayonne/Bayonne) led the Ospreys by finishing 10th overall with a time of 23:36.13 for six kilometers.
 
Maddy Valasek (Medford/Shawnee) followed two seconds later in 11th place at 23:38.14.
 
After 10 seconds ticked off, Evelynn Austin (Sparta/Pope John XXIII) came in at 23:48.45 for 16th place.
 
Rachel Hayes (Marlboro/St. John Vianney) finished 26th with a time of 24:22.38.
 
Paige McCabe (Moorestown/Moorestown) rounded out Stockton's group of five scorers in 31st place with a time of 24:47.81.
 
Stockton will have a couple of weeks off before racing in the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University on October 3.
