Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (6-4) scored in each of the first three quarters and rolled to a dominant 5-0 victory over Albright College (1-7) on Saturday morning. Seven different Ospreys recorded points in the game.
Brooke Ruiz (Voorhees/Eastern Regional) got the scoring started in the first quarter as she took a pass from
Makayla Alessi (Manahawkin/Southern Regional) and fired a shot home from the middle of the arc for her fourth goal of the season.
In the second period,
Riley DeMarco (Hammonton/Cedar Creek) stickhandled in front and deposited the ball into the cage for her second goal of the year.
Just 3:46 later,
Kylee Donegan (Shamong/Seneca) made it 3-0 as she pulled the ball around the Albright goaltender and shoveled it into the open net for her first career goal.
The Ospreys tacked on two more tallies in the third quarter.
Maura Somers (Berlin/Eastern Regional) blasted a backhand slapshot into the cage for her second goal of the season 3:11 into the second half.
Jessica Bruther (Manahawkin/Southern Regional) capped the 5-0 triumph 4:35 later with a tap-in at the left post for her third marker of the year. Freshman
Hailee Ladu (Cream Ridge/Allentown) fed the ball across the goalmouth to Bruther for an assist that was her first career point.
Stockton goalie
Erika Roura (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) needed just two saves to record her seventh career shutout, which is tied for fourth in program history. Albright goalie Mackenzie Bunn made 12 saves as the Ospreys outshot the Lions 29-4 overall.
