Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (1-2) played its home opener after starting the season with two road games, but the Ospreys suffered a 4-1 setback to Haverford College (2-0). Stockton held advantages of 16-14 in shots and 19-13 in penalty corners.
Trailing 2-0, the Ospreys earned a penalty corner in the closing seconds of the second quarter. They capitalized as
Makayla Alessi (Manahawkin/Southern Regional) tipped in a shot by
Riley DeMarco (Hammonton/Cedar Creek) with no time on the clock to cut the deficit in half at 2-1.
The momentum did not carry over into the second half as the Fords struck for two goals just over seven minutes apart in the third quarter for a 4-1 count. Stockton compiled seven penalty corners and six shots in the fourth quarter but was unable to convert.

Erika Roura (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) made five saves on the night. Erica Pardon paced Haverford with a goal and two assists followed by Holly Vincent with a goal and an assist. Fords' goalie Steph Ionescu stymied the Ospreys with six saves.
Stockton will be back on the road on Saturday for a game at FDU-Florham that starts at 4:30 p.m.
