Madison, NJ – Stockton University (2-1-1) scored a goal in the first half and made it stand up in a 1-0 victory over Ithaca (1-1) on Saturday afternoon in the first day of the Drew Fall Classic.
Madison Bjorndahl (Point Pleasant/Point Pleasant Boro) scored her first goal as an Osprey for the game winning tally.

After a non-descript first 19 minutes of play,
Logan Shaw (Hainesport/Rancocas Valley) sent a cross into the box, where
Megan Morris (Sicklerville/Bishop Eustace) tipped a pass to Bjorndahl. Her one-timer hit the back of the net for the 1-0 advantage. The score would remain the same for the rest of the half.

The Bombers rallied in the second stanza, outshooting Stockton 7-1 with three on net. Ithaca staged a furious last seven minutes with four shots but were able to get just one on net and Stockton came away with the one-goal victory.

Morgan Keil (Upper Twp./Holy Spirit) posted her first shutout of the season with a four save effort, which included her 200th career save. Her save total moved her into eighth all-time and her 18th career shutout places her seventh in Stockton history.

Kaelyn Fernandez and Mia Medearis combine for six of the nine shots for Ithaca. Goalkeeper Katrina Varnum made two saves in the loss.

Stockton will have a quick turnaround when they take on Farmingdale State tomorrow at 2:30 pm in Madison to close out the Drew Fall Festival.
