Newark, N.J. – Stockton University (3-1) snapped a 1-1 tie on a goal by
Chris Krall (Bordentown/Florence Twp.) in the 70th minute and edged NYU (0-3) 2-1 in a game that was played at New Jersey Institute of Technology. The win was the second straight for the Ospreys.
Aiden Hoenisch (Bordentown/Notre Dame) gave Stockton an early 1-0 lead with a goal assisted by
Ernst Louisius (Asbury Park/Neptune) 18:24 into the game. The Ospreys kept the lead through halftime before NYU tied the match just 1:21 into the second half.
The deadlock lasted for over 22 minutes before Krall scored for the second consecutive game. The junior struck for the eventual game-winner with an assist by
Kieran Sundermann (Little Egg Harbor/Pinelands) with 20:59 left.
The Ospreys held NYU to just one shot the rest of the way, which came in the final minute, and goalkeeper
Brady Bartletta (Hainesport/Rancocas Valley) made the save to seal the 2-1 triumph.
Bartletta earned the win with four saves. His counterpart Ludvig Hilberts also made four stops for NYU. Felix Dyckerhoff was the goal scorer for the Violets.
Stockton returns home to host Drew University on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
