Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (6-5) cracked the 100-point mark for the second straight game with a 106-64 rout of Widener University (2-8) in the first contest of the Stockton Classic. The Ospreys shot 54.5% from the field including a season-best 43.3% (13-30) from three-point range.
Justin Harper (Bridgeton/Wildwood Catholic) continued his scoring binge with a career-high 25 points for his fourth game in the last six with at least 20 markers.
Logan Mckee (Glen Mills/Phelps School) tallied a season-high 20 points.
Harper and Mckee each went 4-6 from beyond the arc and grabbed seven rebounds apiece.
Charlie Bell (Miami, Fla./Florida Christian) notched a career high with 17 points followed by
Jahmir Payoute (Irvington/Snyder) with 11 points and seven rebounds.
Eriq Campbell (West Atco/Lindenwold),
Devon Johnson (Pine Hill/Overbrook) and
Riley Powell (Cape May/Wildwood Catholic) added eight markers each, with Powell establishing a career high.
Andrew Crawford (Haddon Hts./Camden Catholic) handed out a career-high seven assists.
Trailing 9-8 early, Stockton embarked on a commanding 36-4 run for an insurmountable 44-13 lead with 14 minutes gone in the game. Harper led the charge with 13 points and Mckee swished four three-pointers during the onslaught.
Stockton led 57-23 at the half as Harper (21), Mckee (14) and Bell (13) combined for 48 points in the first stanza. The Ospreys cruised in the second half, reaching the century mark with 2:29 remaining in the 106-64 triumph. All 12 Stockton players in uniform played seven minutes or more and 11 scored points.
Conner Schumacher paced Widener with 12 points followed by TJ Bryson with 10 markers.
The Stockton Classic will continue tomorrow with Stockton facing Christopher Newport at 2:00 p.m. followed by Rowan versus Widener at 4:00 p.m.
