Ewing, N.J. – Stockton University (10-9, 7-5 NJAC) fell 75-59 in a road game at The College of New Jersey (10-9, 9-3 NJAC), who currently sits in second place in the conference. The Ospreys outscored TCNJ 44-28 in the paint, but the home team sank 12 three-pointers.
Zemirah Enalls (Barnegat/Barnegat) led three Stockton players in double figures with 15 points while shooting a near-perfect 7-8 (87.5%) from the field.
ChiChi Wokocha (Galloway/Absegami) was perfect from the floor as she went 6-6 and finished with a season-high 13 points. Wokocha also led the Ospreys with five rebounds.
Madisyn McNair (Hackensack/Hackensack) rounded out the double-digit trio with 10 points in a game-high 38 minutes.
Imene Fathi (Wildwood/Wildwood) scored eight points and dealt three assists to bring her career total to 289 helpers. Stockton shot a season-best 45.6% (26-57) from the field in the game, led by a combined 13-14 from Enalls and Wokocha.
The Ospreys played a strong first quarter, sparked by Enalls with nine points. Stockton shot 7-13 (53.8%), but TCNJ hit four three-pointers and held a slim 18-16 edge. The Ospreys slumped in the second period as they went just 2-10 (20%) and were outscored 17-4 for a 35-20 deficit at the break.
Stockton closed the gap to 10 twice in the third quarter before the Lions finished the stanza with a 16-4 run that made it 59-37. Although the Ospreys shot 64.3% (9-14) and outscored TCNJ 22-16 in the fourth quarter, they were unable to mount a rally. Wokocha tallied nine markers in the final period.
Brooke McFadden paced TCNJ with 21 points followed by Amanda Baylock and Grace Kowalski with 16 and 12 points respectively.
Stockton will be on the road again on Saturday for a conference game at Rutgers-Newark that tips off at 4:00 p.m.
