Galloway, N.J. - Stockton University (2-0) led wire-to-wire in an 18-2 victory over Mount St. Mary (N.Y.) (0-1) on Saturday afternoon. Nine players scored for the Ospreys with
Brianna Robinson (Cape May CH/Middle Twp.) leading the way with four goals on the day.
Stockton unloaded with 10 markers in the first period, led by Robinson and
Isabella Marinello (West Caldwell/Caldwell) with two each. The home squad tallied four more scores in the second quarter for a commanding 14-1 lead at the break.
Stockton outscored the Knights 4-1 in the second half to set the final score at 18-2.
Marinello added three goals with freshman
Allie Prickett (Bridgewater/Bridgewater-Raritan) scoring the first two goals of her career.
Anissa Serafine (Tabernacle/Our Lady of Mercy) and freshman
Brielle Soltys (Absecon/Holy Spirit) chipped in with two goals each as well.
Shyanne Nucifora (Lacey/Lacey Twp.) dished a game-high four assists and added a goal.
Julia Gibson (Cape May Point/Lower Cape May) scored twice and assisted on three goals to tie Nucifora with five points in the contest.
Billie Ormsby (Maple Shade/Maple Shade) led the defense with six ground balls with three caused turnovers. Freshman
Maisy Mosier (Berlin/Eastern Regional) grabbed a team-high five draw controls.
All four goal tenders saw action in the game with
Jordan Czaczkowski (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) earning the win. Freshmen netminders
Abbey Schaeffer (Rehoboth, DE/Cape Henlopen) and
Isabel Mango (Roxbury/Roxbury) saw their first college action, playing the second and fourth quarters while
Nzingha Smith-Vance (Cheltenham, PA/Cheltenham) played the third period.
Stockton will host their third of four straight home games this Wednesday, when the Ospreys face Washington College (MD). Game time is scheduled for 4 pm
