Auburndale, FL – Stockton University (3-3) split a pair of games on Wednesday afternoon in Florida. The Ospreys downed Roger Williams (2-4) 16-6 in seven innings, before dropping to a 13-2 decision, also in seven innings, to Western New England University (3-3) in the second match.

Freshman
Jimmy Casey (Newtown, PA/Archbishop Wood),
Yenuelle Rodriguez (Vineland/Vineland) and
Evan Palmer (Manchester/Manchester twp.) all had three hits on the day.

Stockton scored 15 unanswered runs against Roger Williams in the early game in the third straight game scoring double figures for the Ospreys. Rodriguez and Plamer did most of the damage, driving in four runs and two RBI, respectively.
Joe Gmitter (Hamilton/Steinert) also knocked in a pair of markers.

After spotting the Hawks a 6-1 lead after two frames, the Ospreys exploded for five markers in the third inning on a Casey single and Rodriguez' grand slam, his first as an Osprey. Seven more runs in the fourth inning put the game away. Gmitter drove in two of the runs with
Nick Avagnano (Paramus/Paramus) knocking in another.

One more run in the fifth and three more markers in sixth inning closed out the 16-6 win on the run rule.
Conner Praschil (Emerson/Emerson) earned his first career win pitching five scoreless innings, with eight strikeouts, in relief.

The Ospreys could only manage four hits in the second match and were held scoreless until the final stanza when
Thomas Bomberger (West Islip, NY/West Islip) and
Dom Vizzoni (Trenton/Notre Dame) broke the shutout attempt with RBI.

The Ospreys will play a single game tomorrow against Beloit College in Florida. Game time is scheduled for 10:30 am.
