Stockton Extends Win Streak with 17-10 Victory

Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (6-0) ran their winning streak to six straight games with a 17-10 win over Elizabethtown College (1-6) on Wednesday night. Colin Wagner (Birdsboro, PA/Daniel Boone) led nine different goal scorers, with a game-high five goals on the night. It is the best start to a season for Stockton since 2015.
 
The Blue Jays took an early 3-2 lead in the first period, before Jack Vandegrift (Jenkintown, PA/LaSalle College Prep) and Wagner pushed the home team to a 4-3 lead after one period. In the second period, four more tallies by four different Ospreys offset one by Elizabethtown for an 8-4 margin at the break.
 
The Ospreys broke the game open in the third quarter, scoring five times, two by Vandegrift, to forge a 13-6 advantage heading to the final period. Two more scores by Vandegrift, with one each by Wagner and Josh Graham (Garnet Valley, PA/Garnet Valley) equaled four markers by the Blue Jays to set the final score at 17-10 in favor of Stockton. Vandegrift dished a pair of assists to tie Wagner with five points on the night.
 
Cole Blum (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) was outstanding in the face-off circle, winning 21-31 (67.7%) and scooping a game-high 14 ground balls. Shane Phillips led all players with three caused turnovers.
 
Goalkeeper Ben Blum (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) tied his season high with 14 saves in net for his fifth win of the season.
 
For the Blue Jays, Finn Kristan and Jay Rodriguez scored three goals each, with Ben Zaitz making 16 saves in net.
 
Stockton will start a short two-game road trip, beginning with a match against Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA. on Saturday afternoon. The game is scheduled for 12 pm.
