Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (4-3) started a three-game homestand with a dominant 24-5 victory over St. Joseph's Long Island (0-4). The Ospreys scored 15 times in the first half to build an insurmountable lead.
Brielle Soltys (Absecon/Holy Spirit) led Stockton with five goals and two assists for seven points plus 10 draw controls.
Julia Gibson (Cape May Point/Lower Cape May) contributed four goals and an assist.
Madison MacGillivray (Forked River/Lacey Twp.) tallied a goal and four assists for five points. Freshman
Elisa Dougherty (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) scored her first two career goals and added two assists for four points.
After yielding the first goal of the game, Stockton reeled off six straight, with Gibson netting three of them and later adding her fourth marker of the first quarter for an 8-2 lead. Soltys fired home three of Stockton's seven goals in the second period as the advantage ballooned to 15-4.
The Ospreys outscored the Golden Eagles 9-1 during the second half for the 24-5 triumph.
Isabella Marinello (West Caldwell/Caldwell) found the net in the fourth quarter to tie the school record of 163 career points by Michelle Pascrell.
Twelve different Stockton players scored at least once in the rout, including junior transfer
Kasey O'Neill (Morton, Pa./Ridley), who collected her first career goal, and
Aubrey Giordano (Mt. Olive/Mt. Olive) with two goals and an assist.
All four Stockton goalkeepers saw action, with
Jordan Czaczkowski (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) playing the first half and making four saves.
Gina Marotta (Montville/Montville) snagged six draw controls for the Ospreys.
Sabrina Doyle scored twice and Kaitlyn Ippolito tallied a goal and three assists for St. Joseph's Long Island.
Stockton will be home again on Saturday to host Farmingdale State at noon.
