Styer Becomes First Team All-American at NCAA Championships

Birmingham, Ala. – Stockton University junior Elaina Styer (Estell Manor/Ocean City) earned a First Team All-America honor by finishing second out of 20 competitors in the pentathlon at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday.
 
Styer broke two of her own school records on the day. She compiled total of 3,765 points to top her mark of 3,747 on February 21 that was the best in the nation during the regular season. Styer also shattered her time of 8.82 seconds in the 60m hurdles by blazing to the finish line in 8.67 seconds.
 
Styer finished in the top four among the group of 20 competitors in three of the five events, placing first in the 60m hurdles, second in the 800m (2:19.96) and tied for fourth in the high jump (1.64m). Her 800m time was her fastest in six attempts running that distance.
 
Styer became an All-American for the first time in her career and became the sixth different Osprey to earn an All-American accolade in women's indoor track & field.
