Stockton Extends Winning Streak to Six

Salisbury, Md. – Stockton University (6-0) remained unbeaten and extended its winning streak to six games with a 7-5 victory over Lynchburg (6-7) and a 10-2 win over King's College (5-7) in six innings. Elizabeth Martin (Port Republic/Cedar Creek) was the winning pitcher in both games.
 
McKenna George (Centennial, Colo./Eaglecrest) went 2-4 and scored twice while Emma Coldsnow (Yorktown, Va./Tabb) was 2-4 with a double and an RBI.
 
Stockton snapped a 3-3 tie with four runs in the top of the seventh. The inning featured a two-run single by Camryn Harry (Swedesboro/Paul VI) and an RBI double by Coldsnow. Lynchburg made it 7-5 and got the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the seventh before the Ospreys prevailed.
 
Caitlin Cetrulo (Caldwell/Caldwell) and Aubrey Jeffers (Lumberton/Rancocas Valley) tallied three hits and two RBI apiece in the victory over King's. Emily Clauss (Delanco/BCIT) went 2-4 with a double and two RBI.
 
The game was tied 2-2 until Stockton took a 4-2 lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth. An RBI single by Jeffers made it 5-2 in the sixth before the Ospreys pulled away with five runs in the sixth stanza.
 
The big inning was highlighted by a two-run single from Coldsnow, two-run double by Clauss and an RBI single by Jeffers.
 
Martin came out of the bullpen and allowed just one hit with three strikeouts in three scoreless innings for her second pitching win of the day.
 
Stockton will conclude its games at the Margie Knight Tournament on Sunday with contests against #24 Randolph Macon at 11:00 a.m. and Carnegie Mellon at 1:30 p.m.
