Stockton Sweeps Arcadia 10-2 and 8-6

Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (13-1) swept Arcadia University (7-9) in a home doubleheader. The Ospreys rolled to a 10-2 win in six innings and then rallied to complete the sweep 8-6. Lexi Liquori (Union/Union) was the winning pitcher for Stockton in both games.
 
Camryn Harry (Swedesboro/Paul VI) rapped three hits and added one run and one RBI in the first game. Caitlin Cetrulo (Caldwell/Caldwell) went 2-3 with a double, two RBI, two stolen bases and a run. McKenna George (Centennial, Colo./Eaglecrest) stole four bases and scored three times.
 
Stockton led 2-1 after the first inning and added to the lead on an RBI double by Cetrulo and RBI single by Harry in the second frame for a 4-1 advantage. The Ospreys scored one run in the fourth frame, three in the fifth and two in the sixth to end the game early at 10-2.
 
Starter Elizabeth Martin (Port Republic/Cedar Creek) allowed one run in three innings. Liquori came out of the bullpen and held Arcadia to one run on one hit in three innings to earn the win.
 
Cetrulo went 2-4 with a two-run homer in the nightcap. George totaled two hits, four more stolen bases and three more runs. Sienna Smith (Freehold/Freehold Twp.) chipped in with her first two career hits, including a double, plus one run and one RBI.
 
Cetrulo blasted a two-run homer in the bottom of the first to put the Ospreys on top 2-1. A grand slam by Arcadia's Samantha Edwards highlighted a five-run fourth inning the put Stockton in a 6-2 hole. A sacrifice fly by Harry in the fifth frame scored George to make it 6-3.
 
The Ospreys surged ahead with five runs in the bottom of the sixth. Smith and George stroked RBI singles and the duo combined on a double steal during which Smith scored the go-ahead run. Harry brought George home with a sacrifice fly to give Stockton and insurance run, and the Ospreys won 8-6.
 
Liquori came on in relief and retired 10 of the 12 batters that she faced in 3.1 scoreless innings pitched to collect her second win of the doubleheader.
 
Sophia Passaro paced Arcadia with two hits and two runs in each game. Stephanie Binek went 2-4 with two RBI and a run for the Knights in the nightcap.
 
Stockton will begin NJAC play with a home doubleheader against William Paterson on Sunday at noon.
