Camden, NJ – Stockton University (7-22, 3-8 NJAC) returned to NJAC play but fell to Rutgers-Camden (15-16, 7-4 NJAC) by a score of 19-9 on Thursday afternoon.

For Stockton:
Freshman
Jimmy Casey (Newtown, PA/Archbishop Wood) continued his outstanding rookie season with three hits and four RBI. He extended his hitting streak to seven straight games.

Dom Vizzoni (Trenton/Notre Dame) had two hits, two runs scored and three RBI.
Â
Colin McGeehan (Matawan/Matawan), the fourth pitched of the day, tossed 1.2 scoreless innings.

How it Happened:
The Scarlet Raptors scored the first two runs of the game, before Stockton responded with a pair in the top of the third inning.
Russell Halvorsen (Howell/Howell) doubled and was sacrificed to third. Vizzoni knocked him in to make it 2-1.

After a sacrifice moved Vizzoni into scoring position, Casey picked up his first RBI of the day to knot the game at 2-2.

Rutgers-Camden then reeled off the next 17 runs to take a commanding 19-2 lead heading to the final frame.

The Ospreys showed some fight as they tallied seven runs on just three hits in the stanza.
Matthew McCloskey (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson) hit a sacrifice fly to plate one run,
Logan Madison (Warminster, PA/Warminster) walked to drive in the second run, then Vizzoni singled for two more RBI.

With the bases loaded, Casey cleared the deck with a double, but that was all for the Ospreys in the 19-9 loss.

For Rutgers-Camden:
Jacob Watson, Ryan Joseph, and Michael McGinley all had three hits each in the 18-hit attack. Watson also had three RBI in the contest.

Austin Wokock earned his fifth win of the season, pitching 7.0 innings with five strikeouts.

Stockton will play the second game of the home-and-home with Rutgers-Camden tomorrow afternoon in Galloway. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
