Stockton Edges Montclair 12-11 in Overtime

Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (10-4, 2-1 NJAC) edged Montclair State (5-6, 1-2 NJAC) 12-11 on a game-winning goal by Maisy Mosier (Berlin/Eastern Regional) in overtime. With the victory, Stockton moved into sole possession of third place in the conference.
 
Isabella Marinello (West Caldwell/Caldwell) led the Ospreys with three goals followed by Brielle Soltys (Absecon/Holy Spirit) with a goal and two assists for three points plus a game-high six ground balls, three draw controls and two caused turnovers.
 
Stockton built a 7-2 lead behind two goals by Aubrey Giordano (Mt. Olive/Mt. Olive) and five Ospreys with one apiece. Stockton then went scoreless for the next 13:58 while Montclair pulled within 7-6 early in third quarter.
 
Marinello snapped the drought with the first of her two goals during a 4-1 run that gave the Ospreys an 11-7 lead with 7:39 left in the game. The Red Hawks rallied with four markers in the last 4:16, tying the game 15 seconds left to force overtime.
 
The teams exchanged turnovers on the first two possessions in OT before Mosier took a pass from Soltys and fired home the game-winner to give Stockton the 12-11 triumph. The victory was Stockton's 10th of the season as they reached double digits for the fourth straight year under head coach Denise Roessler.
 
Stockton goalkeeper Jordan Czaczkowski (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) earned the win with 10 saves. Gina Marotta (Montville/Montville) grabbed a game-high nine draw controls and scooped three ground balls.
 
Kaeley Sek and Amra Lukovic paced Montclair with three goals apiece. Red Hawks' goalie Joey Grotkopf made 11 saves.
 
Stockton's next game will be at 18th-ranked The College of New Jersey on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
