Stockton Rows in Upper Schuylkill Challenge

Conshohocken, Pa. – Stockton University rowed in three races at the Upper Schuylkill Challenge, which was hosted by Bryn Mawr. St. Mary's (Md.) and Franklin & Marshall also competed at the regatta.
 
Varsity Eight:
Maggie Dunn (Haddonfield/Haddon Twp.), Giavonna Terruso-Emmons (Mays Landing/Cedar Creek), Olivia Wagner (Lafayette/High Point), Ashley Timm (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT), Reilly Deschenes (Cape May CH/Middle Twp.), Breanna Blisard (Galloway/Cedar Creek), Reese Weirick (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley), Sydney Rowand (Barrington/Haddon Hts.) and coxswain Thalia Gonzalez (Moorestown/Moorestown)
 
Stockton finished second out of four teams with a time of 7:55.17 that was nine seconds better than third-place Bryn Mawr and 27 seconds ahead of Franklin & Marshall. The Ospreys trailed only St. Mary's (7:37.71).
 
Second Varsity Eight:
Maddy Mehler (Rydal, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie), Ixanna Torres (Atlantic City/Atlantic City), Megan Baldwin (Brigantine/Holy Spirit), Lex Zang (San Carlos, Calif./Carlmont), Keira Kenney (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT), Gabriella Nguyen (Pennsauken/Pennsauken), Mackenzie Sutton (Galloway/Cedar Creek), Julia Emer (Jackson/Grunin Performing Arts Academy) and coxswain Sam Moore (Egg Harbor City/Absegami)
 
Stockton finished third out of four with a time of 8:36.57. Bryn Mawr won the race (8:12.99) followed by St. Mary's in second place (8:14.85). The Ospreys topped Franklin & Marshall by 43 seconds.
 
Varsity Four:
Estrella Figueroa (Galloway/Absegami), Maria Fazio (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forrest Hills Northern), Alexa Shallcross (Ocean City/Ocean City), Sam Moore (Egg Harbor City/Absegami) and coxswain Thalia Gonzalez (Moorestown/Moorestown)
 
Stockton easily won the three-team race with a time of 9:57.91. The Ospreys cruised to victory over runner-up St. Mary's by 49 seconds and third-place Bryn Mawr by 58 seconds.
 
Up Next:
Stockton will have two weeks off before rowing in the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Championships on May 2.
