Stockton Rolls to 19-4 Win; Marinello Breaks Goal Record

Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (11-5, 3-2 NJAC) clinched the No 3 seed in the NJAC Tournament with a 19-4 win against Ramapo College (5-11, 0-5 NJAC) in the last game of the regular season.
 
 Isabella Marinello (West Caldwell/Caldwell) scored four goals and broke the school record of 133 career goals. Marinello also dished four assists for a game-high eight points.
 
The game's Senior Day ceremony celebrated Shyanne Nucifora (Lacey Twp./Lacey Twp.), Anissa Serafine (Tabernacle/OLMA), Jordan Czaczkowski (Jackson/Jackson Memorial), Gina Marotta (Montville/Montville), Julia Gibson (Cape May Point/Lower Cape May) adn Brianna Robinson (Cape May CH/Middle Twp.).

The game was in control for the Ospreys. After four previous shots on goal, the Ospreys were able to get onto the scoresheet with their first goal of the game coming from Serafine. Stockton then went on a three-goal unanswered run, Maisy Mosier (Berlin/Eastern Regional) got her first of the game, and Serafine picked up her second.
 
The Roadrunners answered back with their first goal, and Mosier responded with her second. The Ospreys went into the second period leading 4-1.

Brielle Soltys (Absecon/Holy Spirit) scored the first goal of the second period for the Ospreys, which sparked a seven-goal unanswered run in which Marinello scored her second of the game, breaking the school record of 133 goals.
 
Soltys added two more to her total, followed by Serafine scoring one and Gibson getting her first of the game. The Ospreys went into halftime leading 11-1.

The third period saw the Roadrunners get on the board first with a goal. The offensive surge continued for the Ospreys. They saw the back of the net four more times in the third. Mosier scored twice, Marinello and Allie Prickett (Bridgewater/Bridgewater-Ratritan) each scored one.

The Ospreys closed the game in the fourth with Madison MacGillivray (Forked River/Lacey Twp.) scoring in the start of the period. The period saw four more goals to end the game with a 19-4 win.
 
Seven different players scored for Stockton in the game, and four scored three or more goals. Marinello and Mosier led with four each, and Serafine and Soltys grabbed three apiece.

Stockton was a force on defense, Soltys had eight draw controls and five ground balls. Marotta also had five draw controls. The Ospreys only allowed eight total shots from the Roadrunners, while they shot 43 total times.

Stockton went 9-0 in home games this season. The Ospreys will play at No. 2 seed Rowan University in the semifinal round of the NJAC Tournament on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
