Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (5-18, 1-5 NJAC) could not withstand an early barrage of runs by Immaculata University (8-14) and dropped an 18-9 non-conference contest on Tuesday afternoon.

For Stockton
Nick Avagnano (Paramus/Paramus),
Liam Schwinn (West Chester, PA/Henderson), and
Matthew McCloskey (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson) each had two hits.

Schwinn, McCloskey, and
Russell Halvorsen (Howell/Howell) all had home runs, with McCloskey hitting his second round tripper in as many games.

Nick Avagnano (Paramus/Paramus) and
Jimmy Casey (Newtown, PA/Archbishop Wood) both scored twice, with Avagnano and McCloskey driving in two runs each.

How it Happened
The Mighty Macs scored eight times in the first two frames, before Stockton responded with a pair of markers in the bottom of the third. Avagnano singled for two RBI.

The visitors stretched the margin to 17-3, when Stockton started to rally. In the bottom of the sixth,
Dom Vizzoni (Trenton/Notre Dame) plated a run, and the second tally came on a wild pitch to make it 17-5.

Another single run in the seventh, made it 17-6, then in the eighth frame, Schwinn and Halvorsen, a two-run shot, homered to make it 18-9 but the Ospreys could get no closer.

For Immaculata
Nick Turnage had four hits to lead the 19-hit attack, with teammates Robert Woodring and Ryan Nace driving in four runs each. Nace also scored four times.

Next Game
Stockton will return to NJAC play on Thursday, when the Ospreys will host The College of New Jersey. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
