Ewing, N.J. – Stockton University finished second out of six teams in the Herb Lorenz Invitational hosted by The College of New Jersey. Stockton's score of 37 topped Holy Family, Brooklyn, Caldwell and FDU-Florham, and trailed only host TCNJ.
 
A pair of newcomers led the Ospreys. Sam Szczepanski (Chester/Mendham) won a race for the second straight week, finishing 6K in 19:47.1 for a three-second victory. Freshman James Clauson Haddon Twp./Haddon Twp.) placed third out of 66 runners in the race at 19:50.4.
 
Owen Bergen (Brick/Brick Twp.) finished 12th (20:37.8) and freshman Jacob Kroposky (Eatontown/Monmouth) was two spots back in 14th place (20:42.9).
 
Lewis Iannucci (Merchantville/Haddon Hts.) was the fifth Stockton runner in the top 20 as he finished 19th (21:01.8).
 
Next weekend, Stockton will host the Osprey Open on their campus course on September 19 at 10:30 a.m.
