Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (0-3-2) held a 13-6 advantage on shots but came away with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of DeSales University (3-1-0) on Saturday afternoon. Freshman
Cooper Adinolfi (Medford/Shawnee) scored the lone tally for the home team.
The Bulldogs tallied the first marker of the game just 1:56 into the contest. Larry Sullivan gathered a loose ball in front and made it 1-0. Adinolfi knotted the game in the 14th minute when he took a lead pass from midfield from
Derek Tindall (Florence/Florence) and found himself one on one with the goalkeeper.
He flipped a shot over Colin Hojnowksi that found the net for his third goal of the young season and a 1-1 tie.
The Bulldogs scored quickly in the second half, tallying the eventual game winner 2:55 into the final half for the 2-1 lead. The Ospreys outshot DeSales 5-1 the rest of the way but could not ger the equalizer and the match ended in the one goal defeat for Stockton.
Freshman
Cole Butler (Deptford/Deptford) made one save for the Ospreys in net. Hojnowksi kicked out seven Osprey attempts.
Stockton will play three games next week, starting on Monday when the Ospreys will travel to Glenside, PA to face Arcadia University. Game time is set for 7 pm.
