Stockton University Athletics

Baltimore, MD – Stockton University (1-3-3) dominated play during the match but could not get the winning tally, as the Ospreys played to a scoreless draw against Notre Dame of Maryland (1-1-2) on Wednesday night. Stockton held a massive 23-3 advantage in shots and 7-2 min shots on goal but came away empty.
 
After a scoreless first half, which Stockton held a 7-2 margin in shots, the Ospreys dominated play in the final 45 minutes. The Ospreys pressured the Gators to the tune of 16-1 in shots and seven on net. The Osprey's best chances came at 71:23 when Fabrizio Sousa (Harrison/Harrison) clanged the left post, then Aiden Hoenisch (Bordentown/Notre Dame) had a header knocked away at the 83rd minute.
 
Stockton peppered the Gators netminder with four more attempts in the final six minutes but could not find the mark in the 0-0 tie.
 
Hoenisch and Christian Pereira (Newark/St. Peter's Prep) had four shots each with Pereira putting a pair on net. Stockton is unbeaten in four of their last five matches.
 
Freshman Cole Butler (Marlton/Cherokee) made two saves in posting his second shutout of the season.
 
David Von Mentlen made seven saves for the Gators
 
Stockton will return home for their next match on Saturday, when the Ospreys face #16 Catholic University. Game time is set for 5pm.
