Immaculata, Pa. – Stockton University (1-0) scored twice in the first half and shut out Immaculata (0-1) 2-0 in the first full game of the season for the Ospreys after their season opener was suspended due to lightning on Tuesday.
Kylee Reissek (Newfield/Delsea) got Stockton on the board from long range in the 16th minute as her shot from at least 35 yards away floated in under the crossbar for a 1-0 lead.
Junior
Mia Caruso (Brick/Brick Memorial) potted her first career goal in the 37th minute with a left-footed shot from 20 yards out that made it 2-0 in favor of the Ospreys.
Stockton goalkeeper
Tori Vliet (Marmora/Ocean City) made all three of her saves in the second half to preserve the lead and collect her first career shutout with the 2-0 triumph. Immaculata keepers Devan Cosgrove (2 saves) and Addi Husenica (3 saves) each played a half for the home team.
Stockton returns home to host York College (Pa.) on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
