Stockton Win Streak at Seven After Two Victories


(New York, NY) – Richard Stockton (12-5) extended their winning streak to seven with two victories on the first day of the Baruch College Invitational. The Ospreys swept Endicott College (7-9), 25-19, 25-13, 25-19 and then swept tournament host Baruch (8-7) 25-23, 25-13, 25-15. Nicole Serekian (Mahwah/Mahwah) led Stockton with 25 kills and five aces on the day. Shannon Clark (Folsom, PA/Ridley) recorded 33 assists in the two matches.
 
Serekian pounded a match-high 11 kills and added four digs, four blocks and two aces in the win over Endicott. Setters Clark and Mayan Alvarado (Gainesville, FL/P.K. Yonge) dished 14 and 12 assists respectively. Defensively, Macy Schwartz (Mahwah/Mahwah) tallied seven blocks and freshman Lindsay Schuele (Sparta/Sparta) scooped eight digs. Idi Uffen (Williamstown/Williamstown) finished with seven kills and four blocks.
 
Serekian raised her game to a higher level against Baruch with match highs of 14 kills and three aces plus seven digs. Clark handed out 19 assists and scooped seven digs while Alvarado contributed 12 helpers. Emily Grube (Orwigsburg, PA/Nativity) notched a team-high eight digs and Uffen led all players with five blocks.
 
Stockton will continue play in the Baruch Invitational tomorrow with matches against Skidmore at 1 pm and Hunter at 3 pm.
