2024 Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Recap

Overview
Stockton Men's Track & Field competed in 11 meets during the 2024 outdoor season. The Ospreys hosted three meets at G. Larry James Stadium including the NJAC Championships. Thirteen Stockton competitors qualified for and competed in 11 events at the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Championships.
 
Head coach Jayson Resch led Stockton to third place at the NJAC Championships. Thirteen Stockton student-athletes earned all-conference honors, with two also qualifying for all-region accolades. The Ospreys won 11 events on the season.

Highlights
  • Gavin Lum led Stockton with a strong sophomore season in which he earned a team-high three event wins, two in the 110m hurdles and one in the pole vault. Lum also finished second in the pole vault twice, including at the NJAC Championships. He ran a personal-best 15.02 seconds in the 110m hurdles at the NJAC Championships.
  • Trevone Green notched one win in the long jump plus two runner-up finishes in the triple jump. Green posted season bests of 6.43m in the long jump and 13.87m in the triple jump.
  • Joseph deBeaumont collected one win and one runner-up finish in the 1500m. At the NJAC Championships, deBeaumont established a personal best of 1:55.47 in the 800m and also ran a leg for the 4x400 that finished second.
  • Sam Tenenbaum paced Stockton in the distance events by running the team's fastest times in the 3000m (9:15.93), 5000m (15:06.83) and 10,000m (32:06.85). Tenenbaum's top times in the 5000m and 10,000m both came at the NJAC Championships and both were personal bests. He also won once in the 5000m.
  • Chris Griffin, Johnathan Holden and Kevin Lu-Chua were key additions in the javelin, high jump and decathlon respectively as freshmen. Griffin recorded one win and one runner-up finish in the javelin while Holden placed second in the high jump and 110m hurdles once each. Lu-Chua placed third in the decathlon at the NJAC Championships and earned an all-region spot.
  • Erik Ackerman won once in the 1500m and 3000m steeplechase while Dan Squicciarini produced one win and two second-place efforts in the 3000m steeplechase. One of Squicciarini's runner-up finishes came with a personal best of 9:50.89 at the NJAC Championships.
  • Joseph Morales registered one second-place finish apiece in the long jump and pole vault. The runner-up finish by Morales in the long jump came at the NJAC Championships.
  • Anthony Gentile, Marcellus Malloy, Darnell Cartwright, Santana Wittenburg, Shane Moore and Anthony McCullough were keys for Stockton in the relays. The Ospreys earned one victory in the 4x400 and came in second in the 4x400 twice, including the NJAC Championships, plus the 4x100 once.
  • Carson Latham was the top sprinter for the Ospreys, registering the squad's top times in the 100m (10.88 seconds) and 200m (21.89 seconds) as well as running a leg on Stockton's fastest 4x100 (42.59 seconds). Latham competed in all three of those events at the AARTFC Championships.
