Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University freshman Bre Evans (Neptune/Neptune) was named NJAC Rookie of the Week in women's basketball for the week of December 8-14. Evans became the second Osprey to receive the award this season, joining two-time winner Zemirah Enalls.
 
Evans averaged team highs of 13.0 points and 4.5 steals per game in two NJAC victories last week. The freshman also tied for the team lead with 5.5 assists per game and grabbed 5.0 rebounds per game as well.
 
Evans recorded career highs of seven assists and five steals while also tying her career best of seven rebounds in a 58-53 triumph at New Jersey City on December 10. She followed with a career-high 21 points, shooting 8-12 (67%) from the field including 3-4 (75%) from three-point range, in a 72-46 rout of Rutgers-Newark on December 13.
 
For the season, Evans leads Stockton in scoring (9.8 ppg), assists (3.0 apg) and steals (2.3 spg). She currently stands fourth in the NJAC in assists and assist/turnover ratio (0.9) plus fifth in steals.
 
Stockton enters the holiday break with a 6-4 overall record and a 3-2 conference mark. The Ospreys are off until the new year when they will take a two-game trip to Virginia to play Virginia Wesleyan on January 2 and Christopher Newport on January 3.
