Chester, Pa. – Stockton University competed in the Paul Donohue Invitational at Widener University on Saturday. Stockton's day was highlighted by a pair of Ospreys who broke their own school records with performances that rank among the best in the nation this season.
Kayla Kass (Bayonne/Bayonne) took two seconds off her school mark in the 800m and moved into second on the NCAA Division III performance list (2:07.13). Kass finished third out of nine runners in the 800m elite race behind two Division I competitors from Penn.
Emma Petrolia (New Milford/New Milford) topped her school record in the 400m hurdles by nearly a second, jumped into fourth on the NCAA performance list and won in a field of 22 runners (1:01.32).
Michaela Pomatto (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) finished third out of 33 throwers in the discus (41.89m) and
Maddy Valasek (Medford/Shawnee) was fourth out of 66 runners in the 5000m (17:50.62).
Isabella Freda (Verona/Verona) placed fifth out of 33 in the hammer throw.
The quartet of
Isabel Duval (Old Bridge/Old Bridge),
Adrienne Austin (Hainesport/Rancocas Valley),
Cameron Radcliffe (Point Pleasant/Pt. Pleasant Boro) and
Marlie DiPalma (Hackettstown/Pope John XXIII) finished fourth out of 13 teams in the 4x100 relay (50.02 seconds).
Stockton will compete in the TCNJ Lions Invitational on April 25-26.
