Galloway, N.J. – Three Stockton University women's lacrosse players received all-conference recognition from the New Jersey Athletic Conference for the 2025 season. Sophomore
Madison MacGillivray (Forked River/Lacey Twp.) and junior
Gina Marotta (Montville/Montville) were selected NJAC First Team while senior
Lilly Alessandro (Jenkintown, Pa./Abington) was chosen NJAC Second Team.
MacGillivray, Marotta and Alesandro all received NJAC all-conference honors for the first time in their careers. The trio led Stockton to an 11-win season and the No. 4 seed in the NJAC Tournament.
MacGillivray started all 16 games that she played in a breakout sophomore campaign. The midfielder led the team with 45 goals and dished 13 assists for 58 points, placing third on the team. She tossed in a career-high six markers against Lycoming on March 2. MacGillivray also snagged 43 draw controls for third on the squad.
The soph ranks fifth in the NJAC in goals per game (2.81) and 10th in points per game (3.63). MacGillivray was even better during Stockton's five league games, with averages of 3.60 goals per game and 4.20 points per contest that were fifth and tied for seventh in the NJAC respectively.
Marotta had an outstanding season on defense. Starting all 17 games, the junior led the Ospreys and tied the school record with 74 draw controls. Marotta also topped the team and tied the third highest total in program history with 49 ground balls. She finished second on the squad with 25 caused turnovers as well.
Marotta set school records with 13 draw controls against Drew on March 12 and 10 ground balls against Marywood on March 10. She also became the sixth Osprey to reach the 100-ground ball mark for her career. Marotta sits fifth in the NJAC in ground balls per game (2.94) and draw controls per game (4.35).
Alessandro produced another fine season at midfield and ended her career on a high note. The senior finished second on the team behind Marotta in draw controls (54), tied for third in ground balls (37) and fourth in caused turnovers (21) while adding five goals and three assists for eight points.
Alessandro started all 17 games and sits 10th in the NJAC in draw controls (3.18). She grabbed a career-high 10 draw controls against Alvernia on March 9. Alessandro finished her career second in Stockton history with 124 ground balls, third with 132 draw controls and eighth in caused turnovers with 56.
