Galloway, N.J. – Five Stockton University softball players received CSC Academic All-District honors from the
College Sports Communicators for the 2025 season.
Seniors
Emily Spencer (Southampton/Seneca),
Mia Barone (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) and
Nerina Tramp (Blackwood/Highland) along with juniors
Caitlin Cetrulo (Caldwell/James Caldwell) and
Madison Manera (Clayton/Clayton) were Stockton's Academic All-District selections.
Spencer, Cetrulo and Manera are repeat honorees while Barone and Tramp garnered the recognition for the first time in their careers. The five teammates helped the Ospreys to a 26-15 overall record and the No. 4 seed for the NJAC tournament this spring.
The requirements for College Sports Communicators Academic All-District are a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average and sophomore or higher standing. Candidates must have played in at least 90 percent or started at least 66 percent of their team's games this season. Pitchers must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings.
Tramp, a Chemistry major, added another accolade to an already impressive resume. The righty was chosen NJAC Pitcher of the Year, NFCA Region IV First Team and NJAC First Team all for the second consecutive season. She also was named NJAC Pitcher of the Week twice during the campaign.
Tramp was one of the top pitchers in nation, ranking in the top 30 in NCAA Division III in eight categories. She sits third in WHIP (0.74), sixth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (9.19), 11th in hits allowed per seven innings (4.34), 14th in complete games (20), 16th in ERA (1.23), 17th in shutouts (7), 17th in walks allowed per seven innings (0.82), and 29th in strikeouts (147).
Tramp led the NJAC in strikeouts (147) and opposing batting average (.174), tied for the league lead in innings pitched (137) and ranked third in ERA (1.23) and fourth in wins (14). Her seven shutouts equaled the second-highest total in program history while her 14 wins tied for fourth and her 147 strikeouts were fifth.
Spencer, a Health Science major, was an NJAC Second Team selection this season. The shortstop batted .326 while being one of four Ospreys who played in all 41 contests. Spencer led the team in hits (44) and at-bats (139) for the second straight year and finished second on the squad as well as tied for fifth in the NJAC in doubles (14) to go with three homers, 27 runs and 21 RBI.
Barone, a Communications major, had a solid season in the circle. The senior won seven games for the second straight year with one complete game and lowered her ERA to 1.31, ranking fourth in the NJAC and 19th in the nation. Barone struck out 26 batters in 48.0 innings. In 15 appearances including seven starts, she held opponents to a .230 batting average, placing eighth in the league.
Manera, an Elementary Education major, started 30 games behind the plate, and did not make an error in 198 chances. A defensive standout, Manera was one of just six NJAC players with a 1.000 fielding percentage, and she finished 10th in the NJAC in putouts (194). Offensively, Manera drove in a career-high 10 RBI and added eight hits and four walks.
Cetrulo, an Exercise Science major, started all 38 games that she played and smashed six home runs, tying for second in the NJAC. The leftfielder finished second on the team in batting (.349) and homers while adding 27 runs and 25 RBI. Cetrulo ranked seventh in the league with a .575 slugging percentage and tied for eighth with three triples.
