Ewing, N.J. – Stockton University finished third out of nine teams in the NJAC Championships, which were held at The College of New Jersey on Saturday and Sunday. The Ospreys scored 152.50 points, easily outpacing fourth-place Montclair (84.25) and trailing TCNJ (223.50) and Rowan (220).
Stockton competitors won four events at the meet.
Kayla Kass (Bayonne/Bayonne) topped a field of 25 runners and broke her own meet record in the 800m (2:09.87). Kass also finished fourth out of 20 in the 1500m (4:45.24).
Three field event winners for the Ospreys were
Eva Morrison (Northfield/Mainland) in the pole vault (3.50m),
Emma Petrolia (New Milford/New Milford) in the triple jump (11.60m) and
Michaela Pomatto (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) in the discus (42.92m). Morrison tied for fourth out of 14 in the high jump (1.47m).
Petrolia finished second out of 11 in the 400m hurdles (1:02.56) while
Maddy Valasek (Medford/Shawnee) was the runner-up out of 17 in the 5000m (18:22.20) and second out of 14 in the 10,000m (39:30.67).
Sydney Rick (Pennington/Hopewell Valley) placed third in the pole vault (3.15m).
Kass, Petrolia,
Emma Conroy (Matawan/Matawan) and
Kayla Sullivan (Manahawkin/Delaware Valley) were third out of six teams in the 4x400 relay (3:56.78).
Adrienne Austin (Hainesport/Rancocas Valley),
Isabel Duval (Old Bridge/Old Bridge),
Marlie DiPalma (Hackettstown/Pope John XXIII) and
Cameron Radcliffe (Pt. Pleasant/Pt. Pleasant Boro) finished third out of eight in the 4x100 relay (49.46 seconds).
Radcliffe also placed fourth out of 32 sprinters in the 100m (12.68 seconds) and fifth out of 32 in the 200m (25.75 seconds) while Sullivan was fourth out of 28 in the 400m (58.09 seconds).
Some Osprey team members will compete in the Ramapo Last Chance Twilight on May 9 at 5:00 p.m.
