Nick Juengert Announces Retirement as Women’s Soccer Coach

7/28/2025 10:16:00 AM

Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University head women's soccer coach Nick Juengert announced his retirement after 22 years leading the Osprey program (2003-24). Juengert will leave Stockton at the end of the week with a record of 282-132-63 and a .657 winning percentage.

"It has been a pleasure to have worked for Stockton Athletics over the past 22 years," Juengert said. "I have met a lot of great people as well as student-athletes, and they all will be missed. I wish everyone the best in the future."

Juengert, just the second coach in the program's 36-year history, helmed Stockton Women's Soccer to a winning record in 19 of his 22 seasons. His teams reached double digits in victories 17 times, including 13 of his first 14 years on the Stockton bench. Juengert's 2007 and 2008 squads each finished with 18 wins, one off the school record.

Juengert led the Ospreys to four consecutive NCAA Tournament berths from 2006-09, and his teams won the ECAC tournament three times (2003-04, 2021). Juengert also steered Stockton to a berth in the NJAC championship game on four occasions (2007-09, 11).

Juengert reached the 100-win mark with a 2-0 shutout of Kean in the first round of the NJAC Tournament on October 31, 2009. He collected his 200th career win in a 7-1 rout of New Jersey City on October 22, 2016 and hit the 250-win plateau with a 3-2 overtime victory at Kean on October 2, 2021.

Juengert's final win as Stockton's head coach came on October 30, 2024 when the Ospreys topped Kean 3-1 in the regular season finale. His 282 career wins ranked 28th among active NCAA Division III coaches at the conclusion of the 2024 season.

Juengert's players earned 27 United Soccer Coaches all-region and 117 NJAC all-conference honors plus eight NJAC postseason awards (Offensive Player/Defensive Player/Midfielder/Goalkeeper/Rookie of the Year). In addition, his charges compiled 26 Academic All-District accolades and Leah Braidi was voted Academic All-America in 2013.

Prior to his hiring as the head women's soccer coach at Stockton in 2003, Juengert spent six years as an assistant men's coach at Rider University, where he helped the Broncs win MAAC championships and earn NCAA Tournament berths in 1997 and 1998.

Before his stint at Rider, Juengert went 73-32-7 in six seasons as the head men's coach at Burlington County College. In 1996, the Barons were the national runner-up and Juengert was named NSCAA Junior College National Coach of the Year, Region XIX Coach of the Year and Garden State Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.

In addition to his more than 35 years of coaching at the college level, Juengert is a longtime fixture on the club soccer circuit including the New Jersey Olympic Development Program, Medford Strikers and South Jersey Elite Barons among others. He was inducted into the South Jersey Soccer Hall of Fame this spring on March 23.
