Bethlehem, Pa. – Stockton University wrapped up a two-meet weekend with student-athletes competing in the Moravian Hounds Classic. The Ospreys who went to Moravian were those who did not compete in the Liberty University Open the previous day.
Josh Corsentino (Brick/Brick Memorial) was the highest finisher for Stockton as he placed fifth out of 23 runners in the 3000m with a time of 9:14.47.
A trio of Ospreys finished in the top third of large fields.
Eduardo Ruiz-Giuseppi (Flemington/Hunterdon Central) placed 14th out of 46 in the 200m (23.63 seconds) while
Joe Franzello (Cape May/Lower Cape May) was 14th out of 44 in the shot put with a personal best by 16 centimeters (12.64m). Freshman
Jacob Bittle (Sicklerville/Paul VI) finished 15th out of 51 in the 60m (7.26 seconds).
Three freshmen cleared the same top height of 3.65 meters and occupied consecutive spots in the pole vault due to tiebreakers.
Danny Adams (Glassboro/Glassboro) finished 10th out of 23 followed by
Ben Malone (Woodcliff/Pascack Hills) in 11th place and
Alex Acevedo (Washington/Warren Hills) in 12th.
Alexis Maldonado-Ortiz (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) finished in the top half of the long jump group with a 13-centimeter personal best of 6.29 meters that was good for 14th place out of 30 competitors.
Stockton will compete in the Widener Schuylkill Showcase on January 31 and February 1.
