Zemirah Enalls (Barnegat/Barnegat) was named NJAC Rookie of the Week for women's basketball for the week of January 19-25. Enalls received the award for the third time this season (Nov. 10, Dec. 1, Jan. 26).
Enalls, who also has been named NJAC Defensive Player of the Week twice (Dec. 15, Jan. 19) grabbed 10.0 rebounds per game, including a total of 10 boards on the offensive glass, in two NJAC matchups last week. The freshman averaged 9.0 points per game, shot 50% (8-16) from the field and blocked a pair of shots.
Enalls started the week by scoring six points and pulling down 11 caroms against Kean, the eighth time this season she has reached double figures in rebounds. She followed that with a 12-point, nine-rebound effort against #20 William Paterson, shooting 5-9 (55.6%) from the field.
For the season, Enalls leads the league in rebounding (10.0 rpg), total offensive rebounds (87) and offensive rebounds per game (5.4 orpg). Th rookie also ranks sixth in the NJAC in blocks at 1.1 per game while averaging 9.1 points and shooting a lofty 56.8% (63-111) from the field.
The Stockton women's basketball team will have two conference matchups this week, both on the road. The Ospreys will travel to Ewing to face The College of New Jersey on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m., then will take on Rutgers-Newark in Newark on Saturday for a 4:00 p.m. tilt.
