Brielle Soltys (Absecon/Holy Spirit) was chosen NJAC Rookie of the Week in women's lacrosse for the week of February 23 through March 1. Solty received a conference award for the second straight time. She was named NJAC Defensive Player of the Week on February 23.
Soltys led the Ospreys with eight caused turnovers and six draw controls in two games last week. The midfielder also tied for the team lead with six goals and finished second on the squad with nine ground balls.
Soltys started the week game highs of six ground balls and five caused turnovers as well as two draw controls and one goal at Washington College on February 26. She exploded for five goals and added a team-high four draw controls plus three caused turnovers and three ground balls in a 20-10 victory over Marywood on Saturday.
Through her first four college games, Soltys leads Stockton in caused turnovers (20) and stands second on the team in ground balls (20) and draw controls (10) in addition to tied for second in goals (8).
Stockton Women's Lacrosse will play two road games this week, at Muhlenberg College on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. and at 20th-ranked Haverford College on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
