Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University goalkeeper Delfina Vanelli (Galloway/Cedar Creek) was named NJAC Defensive Player of the Week in field hockey for her play in the season's opening week. Vanelli received her first career NJAC weekly award.
 
Vanelli made 20 saves and fashioned a 0.69 goals against average and a sterling .909 save percentage in three games last week, earning her first two career victories and her first career shutout.
 
The junior transfer from Rowan started the week with her first career shutout in a 5-0 victory over Arcadia. Vanelli followed that with a career-high nine saves apiece in a 2-1 triumph against Bryn Mawr and a 1-0 setback to #5 Salisbury.
 
The Ospreys will be off until Saturday afternoon when they will play at the University of Scranton at 1:00 p.m.
