Concussion Symptoms and Signs


The following are the most common symptoms and signs reported. No athlete should participate while experiencing any of these symptoms.

Symptoms (experienced by the athlete)
—Headache
—Nausea
—Balance Problems
—Dizziness
—Double or Fuzzy Vision
—Sensitive to Light or Noise
—Feeling Sluggish
—Feeling Mentally "Foggy"
—Concentration Problems
—Memory Problems
—Sleep Problems


Signs (observed by others)
—Dazed Appearance
—Unsure of Game Details (score, opponent)
—Confused
—Responds to Questions Slowly
—Any Loss of Consciousness
—Forgets Events Before the Hit
—Forgets Events After the Hit
—Moves Clumsily
