This plan outlines Stockton University’s Athletics and Recreation Emergency Plan which will be implemented immediately when necessary to provide appropriate standards of health care to all sports participants.
Emergency Personnel with Chain of Command for Decision Making
Team Physician – limited availability
Certified Athletic Trainer (AT)
Coach, if alone at practice (Certified in CPR/AED)
Student worker (Certified in CPR/AED) - in conjunction with Coach
Emergency Communication
- Landlines are in Athletic Training Facility (ATF), Sports Center hallways on all floors, Fitness Center, I-Wing Gym, and I-Wing Weight Room
- Emergency Call Boxes at the North Complex Turf field and adjacent to Baseball Field
- Athletic Training Staff have personal cell phones when they are working practices and games
Activating EMS
Contact Campus Police – 911 or 609-652-4390 (non-emergency line)
Inform campus police:
- You need EMS activated to transport an injured athlete
- Identify yourself
- Identify your location –state Stockton University as well as specific location
- Number of victims; condition/injury of victim
- Treatment initiated
- Other information requested by the dispatcher
Emergency Equipment
- Intercollegiate In-Season games and practices – medical kit, blood bag, splints, crutches, AED and bag valve mask (BVM). Polar Life Pod and rectal thermometer, facemask remover (screwdriver) during appropriate seasons
- ATF – first aid supplies, splints, crutches, AED, BVM, Polar Life Pod, rectal thermometer, facemask remover (screwdriver)
- North Complex Turf Trailer – first aid supplies, splints, crutches, AED, BVM, Polar Life Pod, rectal thermometer, facemask remover (screwdriver) during appropriate seasons
