(Washington, DC) – Richard Stockton (3-2) dealt tournament host Catholic University (3-1) its first defeat of the season, 1-0 in overtime in the final game of the DC Classic. Freshman
Adrianna Boucher (Hamilton/Steinert) scored her second overtime winner this week to lift the Ospreys to their third straight win. Goalkeeper
Sarah Hinkle (Mullica Hill/Paul VI) made four saves to post her third consecutive shutout.
A pair of rookies worked together to give Stockton their third victory in a row. Boucher scored the goal with 2:40 remaining in the first overtime and fellow freshman
Samantha Rodrigues (Clark/Arthur L. Johnson) registered her first career point with the assist. The tally came on Stockton's first shot of OT after Hinkle made a save earlier in the period.
Boucher and Hinkle were named to the DC Classic All-Tournament Team along with
Leah Braidi (Vineland/Sacred Heart) and
Marissa Bruno (Toms River/TR East). Hinkle and the Ospreys have not allowed a goal in the last 314 minutes.
After starting the season with five consecutive road games, Stockton will finally play its home opener on Wednesday when the Ospreys host St. Mary's (MD) at 4 pm.
