Hackettstown, NJ – Richard Stockton (4-4) evened its record with a 2-1 triumph over Centenary (1-5) that was the Ospreys' fourth straight win since they opened the season with four consecutive losses. Both Stockton goals came in the first half as Marissa Bruno (Toms River/TR East) and freshman Mairead McKeary (Cranford/Cranford) each found the back of the net.

Bruno netted her first goal of the season just 8:04 into the match with an assist by Samantha Rodrigues (Clark/Arthur L. Johnson) to give the Ospreys the early lead. The margin doubled later in the half as McKeary scored her first career goal at 31:36 to make it a 2-0 game. Stockton outshot Centenary 5-1 in the period and led by two at the break.

In the second half, Samantha Sysak scored at 59:29 to trim the Stockton lead to 2-1. The tally snapped a 353-minute shutout streak for Ospreys' goalkeeper Lauren Haynes (Williamstown/Williamstown), the reigning NJAC Defensive Player of the Week, and a 364-minute streak for the Stockton team since last allowing a goal on September 6.

Chelsea James (Howell/Howell) hit the post with her bid for an insurance goal seven minutes later, but the near-miss proved moot as the Ospreys protected the one-goal lead for the rest of the game and prevailed 2-1. Haynes finished with three saves while collecting her fourth win of the season.

After playing five straight games on the road, Stockton will have three of its next four matches at home, starting with the NJAC opener against Ramapo at G. Larry James Stadium on Saturday at 3 pm.
