11/8/2024 11:00:00 AM

Galloway, N.J. – Four Stockton University field hockey teammates received NJAC postseason honors for the 2024 season. The four Ospreys led the team to a 10-9 record and an NJAC Tournament berth.

Junior Erika Roura (Mount Laurel/Lenape) was selected NJAC Goaltender of the Year, becoming the third player in program history to receive that award (Emily Gilligan 2018, Caitlin Nolan 2005).

Roura also was voted NJAC First Team along with junior Kirsten Bailey (Burlington/Burlington Twp.) and seniors Carlee Thompson (Gibbsboro/Eastern Regional) and Ameera Bilgrami (Voorhees/Eastern Regional). Bailey and Thompson collected NJAC First Team recognition for the second straight year. Bilgrami and Roura garnered their first career all-conference nods.

Roura had an excellent first season at Stockton after transferring from Ramapo. The goalie fashioned a 1.85 goals against average (4th in NJAC) and a .770 save percentage that is second in the league. Her five shutouts are fourth in the conference and tied for the second highest total ever in a season at Stockton.

Roura played 1,129 of a possible 1,166 minutes and reached double figures in saves five times. She named NJAC Defensive Player of the Week twice and NFHCA National Division III Defensive Player of the Week on October 2.

Bailey had another strong campaign with team highs of 13 goals, which is tied for second in the NJAC, and 30 points, which is fourth in the league. The forward also is tied for second in the conference with four game-winning goals. She was chosen NJAC Offensive Player of the Week on October 21.

Bailey became just the second player in program history with two seasons of 12 goals or more, and she moved into second all-time at Stockton with 31 career goals. In addition to her scoring prowess, Bailey also is tied for third in the NJAC with five defensive saves.

Thompson drove the Stockton offense with her play at midfield again this season, as evidenced by her nine assists, which is second in the NJAC. She also ranks fifth in the conference in points (23) and tied for seventh in goals (7). In just 39 career games at Stockton, Thompson has moved into third in program history with 19 assists.

Bilgrami has been the backbone of a stingy defense as well as a key offensive contributor on penalty corners for four years as an Osprey. This season she played 1,104 minutes, second among Stockton field players, and helped the team record five shutouts and a 1.90 goals against average. Bilgrami also was second on the team in assists (5) to go with four goals for 13 points.
