Galloway, N.J. – Six players on the Stockton University field hockey team qualified as NFHCA Scholars of Distinction from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. The requirements for the recognition are a cumulative grade point average of 3.90 or higher.
Four of the six Stockton honorees have earned the honor multiple years, led by senior
EB Rafferty (Morrisville, Pa./Pennsbury) who became an NFHCA Scholar of Distinction for the third time in her four seasons at Stockton.
Fellow seniors
Miana Alessandroni (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson) and
Erika Roura (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) qualified for the academic honor for the second time in their careers, as did junior
Maura Somers (Berlin/Eastern Regional).
Freshmen
Melany Mosier (Berlin/Eastern Regional) and
Meghan Phillips (Somers Point/Holy Spirit) collected NFHCA Scholar of Distinction spots for achieving GPAs of 3.90 or higher in their first semester of college.
Rafferty, Alessandroni, Roura, Somers, Mosier and Phillips were six of the 15 Stockton players who qualified for the NFHCA National Academic Squad, which was announced on Wednesday. The requirements for that honor were a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.
High academic achievement has long been a hallmark of the Stockton field hockey program. The 2025 season marked the 14th consecutive year in which at least one Osprey player has qualified as an NFHCA Scholar of Distinction.
