12 Ospreys Earn NFHCA Academic Honors

Galloway, N.J. – Twelve players on the Stockton University field hockey team qualified for the NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad by attaining cumulative grade point averages of 3.50 or higher through the Fall 2023 semester. The 12 Ospreys were among over 1,700 qualifiers from 154 Division III teams that were recognized by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
 
Senior Kylie Mitchell (Shamong/Seneca) topped the dozen with her fourth straight appearance on the NFHCA National Academic Squad. Junior Dakota Ludman (Cape May CH/Middle Twp.) earned the academic honor for the third consecutive year.
 
Sophomores Miana Alessandroni (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson), MaKenzie Baggstrom (Mays Landing/Cedar Creek), Alyssa Greiner (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) and EB Rafferty (Morrisville, Pa./Pennsbury) all qualified for the second year in a row.
 
Five freshmen and one sophomore earned a place on the National Academic Squad for their first time. Sophomore transfer Makayla Alessi (Manahawkin/Southern Regional) secured a spot in her first season at Stockton.
 
Jordan Czaczkowski (Jackson/Jackson Memorial), Kaelin Drey (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown), Payton Koenig (Bayville/Central Regional), Olivia Marino (Cedar Knolls/Whippany Park) and Ava Smock (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) were the six rookie honorees for Stockton.
 
On the field, the Ospreys produced one of the program's best seasons ever in 2023. Stockton tied the school record of 15 victories, finishing with a 15-5 mark that was highlighted by a nine-game winning streak. The Ospreys also achieved their highest NCAA regional ranking ever, fourth in Region IV.
