Galloway, N.J. – A pair of Stockton University student-athletes received NJAC weekly awards for January 20-26. Both Ospreys collected honors for the second time this season.

Freshman Jahmir Payoute (Irvington/Snyder) was selected NJAC Rookie of the Week in men's basketball for the second straight week. Sophomore Elaina Styer (Estell Manor/Ocean City) was chosen NJAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week following a previous NJAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week honor on December 9.

Payoute averaged 8.0 points and a team-high 8.0 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week of conference play for Stockton. The rookie forward shot 57.1% (8-14) from the floor and finished second on the team with an average of 34.9 minutes played in the two contests.

Payoute scored 10 points and added career highs of nine rebounds and three steals against Kean on January 22. He followed with six points and seven boards in a 78-66 win at William Paterson on Saturday. For the season, Payoute is averaging 4.1 points and 3.9 rebounds per game while shooting 53.2% (33-62) from the field.

Styer contributed in two events at the Nazareth University Challenge Cup on Saturday. The sophomore finished fifth out of 44 runners in the 60m hurdles with a personal best time of 9.14 seconds that tied the fastest mark in the NJAC and Metro Region in the event.

Styer also ran a leg of the 4x400 relay, helping Stockton fourth place out of 17 teams with a time of 4:02.47 that sits 22nd in NCAA Division III as well as second in the NJAC and Metro Region. Styer, a transfer from Cornell University, both ran the 400-meter distance and ran in a relay for the first time in her college career.

Stockton Men's Basketball (13-5, 8-3 NJAC) currently sits in a three-way tie for first place in the conference. The Ospreys will host a pair of NJAC games this week, facing The College of New Jersey on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. and Rutgers-Newark on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Stockton Track & Field will compete in the Seamus McElligott Invitational at Haverford College on Saturday.
