(Ewing, NJ) – Richard Stockton (1-4, 0-1 NJAC) faced a difficult challenge in its NJAC opener as the Ospreys took on the top-ranked team in the nation and defending national champion College of New Jersey (3-0, 1-0). The Ospreys were overwhelmed early as TCNJ scored five goals in the first 24 minutes and downed Stockton 5-0.

Sara Winters (Blackwood/Triton) made five saves for the Ospreys, all in the first half, and freshman
Gabrielle Evans (Bordentown/Bordentown) contributed a defensive save before the break. TCNJ needed just 3:01 before Jillian Nealon scored the first of her three goals in the game. After Erin Healy connected at 9:55, Nealon tallied the next two markers for the Lions. Caitlyn Jenkins closed the scoring with 23:03 gone off the clock in the first half.
Stockton was outshot 14-6 by the Lions, with a team-high three shots from
Alicia Leadbeater (Franklinville/Delsea) accounting for half of the attempts by the Ospreys. Stockton also earned five penalty corners but could not find the back of the cage and was shut out for the first time this season after averaging 3.0 goals per game through its first four contests.
Stockton will continue its three-game road trip with a matchup at Eastern University on Saturday at noon.
