BoxscoreUnion, NJ – Richard Stockton (6-9, 2-4 NJAC) dropped their second straight game as they were defeated  by Kean University (12-6, 2-3 NJAC) by a 2-1 final on Saturday afternoon. The Ospreys were outshot 24-8 but hung tough with the Cougars, and the loss eliminated Stockton from qualifying for the NJAC Tournament.
Samantha Barcia (Berlin/Eastern) scored her 14th goal of the season for the only Osprey marker. Â

The Cougars scored once in each half, both by Marissa Robinson, to give Kean a 2-0 lead with 12:30 left in regulation. Barcia then tallied 20 seconds later on a shot from 10 yards out to make it a 2-1 game. The Ospreys could not mount a final charge and the game went final at 2-1.

Leah Davies (Ocean City/Ocean City) fired off four of the six Osprey shots on net to lead the team.

Sara Winters (Blackwood/Triton) took the loss and made 11 saves for Stockton in net. Katie DeCarlo kicked out four Stockton shots, all in the first half, to pick up the victory for the Cougars. Both teams were credited with one defensive save as well.

Stockton will finish up the regular season with a non-conference home match against FDU-Florham on Thursday night at 7 pm. It will also be Senior Night at the Turf Field in Galloway.
