5/21/2025 10:34:00 AM

Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University junior Gina Marotta (Montville/Montville) was chosen to the Division III All-ECAC Team by the Eastern College Athletic Conference. Marotta started all 17 games as a defender for Stockton Women's Lacrosse, helping the Ospreys to an 11-6 record.

The Eastern College Athletic Conference is an eighty-six-year-old organization with well over 200 member schools across all three NCAA Divisions. The ECAC exists to enhance the experience of student-athletes by sponsoring championships, tournaments and postseason honors for institutions throughout the Northeast.

Marotta added the All-ECAC recognition to an NJAC First Team accolade as well as one IWLCA Division III Defensive Player of the Week award and one NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honor for her outstanding performance this season.

Marotta led the Ospreys and tied the school record with 74 draw controls while also topping the squad with 49 ground balls, which equaled the third-highest total in the program's 12 seasons. The defender finished second on the team with 25 caused turnovers as well.

Marotta set school records with 13 draw controls against Drew on March 12 and 10 ground balls versus Marywood on March 10. She reached the 100-ground ball mark for her career during Stockton's game against TCNJ on April 23. With one year to play, Marotta sits sixth on the program list in ground balls (103) and seventh in caused turnovers (57).

Marotta tied for fourth in the NJAC in ground balls per game (3.00) and finished fifth in the conference in draw controls per game (4.44). Her 10 ground balls against Marywood were the most by any NJAC player in a game this season and her 13 draw controls versus Drew tied the conference high.
