Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University head softball coach Mavreen Hering and assistant coaches Abby Mace, Joe Costantini, Michelle Neveling and Alexis Bermudez were named NFCA Region IV Coaching Staff of the Year by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
 
In her 11th year, Hering and her staff led Stockton to a 30-9 record as well as the NJAC regular season title, a national ranking and an NCAA Tournament berth, all of which were achieved for the first time in the program's history.
 
The Stockton coaching staff helmed the Ospreys to their highest win total in a decade. Stockton entered the NFCA national poll for the first time on March 31 and remained nationally ranked for the rest of the season.
 
Stockton captured the NJAC regular season title with a 16-2 league record, for which Hering, Mace, Costantini, Neveling and Bermudez were voted NJAC Coaching Staff of the Year. The Ospreys went on to play the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament games earlier this month.
 
The coaches guided a young squad to a memorable 2026 season. Nine of the players who appeared in at least 24 games were freshmen or sophomores. The youngsters were surrounded by a nucleus of five seniors and three juniors whose play and leadership were key factors in the team' success.
